All five figure skating champions at the 2026 Milan Cortina Games have been crowned. Olympic figure skating took its final curtain call until 2030 on Thursday as Alysa Liu won gold and snapped the individual Olympic medal drought that plagued American women for 20 years.

Three figure skaters from Team USA competed in the women's individual free skate event at the Milan Cortina Winter Games.

Alysa Liu became the first American woman to win an individual figure skating medal at the Olympics in 20 years.

The Olympic figure skating events concluded with the women's free skate to at the Milan Cortina Winter Games. The United States' Alysa Liu took Olympic gold; Japan's Kaori Sakamoto and Ami Nakai took silver and bronze.

American Alysa Liu won gold in women's figure skating, becoming the first American woman to do so since 2002. American speedskater Jordan Stolz took silver in the 1,500-meter final. He'd previously won two gold medals at these Games, and he'll have another shot to medal Saturday.

Japan has set a new record for the most medals in its Winter Olympic history by securing its 19th medal at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, surpassing the previous mark of 18 medals achieved at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
