6.5K views · 209 reactions | Casting a Fire Ant Colony with Aluminum then Powder Coating it. This is one I would call a partial cast because the actual colony was much bigger. Sometimes the aluminum solidifies too quickly for various reasons and much of the colony isn't filled. It was a good candidate for powder coating though, because it was small enough to fit in my lab oven to cure the powder (cast iron color). Turned out alright. | Anthill Art | Facebook
